Bovi-Gene Facilities
We built the Bovi-Gene reproduction facility at Freeman Beef Genetics to house donors and recipients in clean and efficient feed pens and grass traps that have both capacities for smaller and larger groups of cattle. This allows the cows to be managed optimally for both nutritional and reproductive efficiency. The center of the cattle processing room is the Silencer chute, alley, and turret gate tub manufactured by Moly manufacturing. This chute and turret gate combination gives us what we believe to be the safest and lowest stress cattle handling facility possible. Our cattle processing room is situated so that we can open and close our overhead doors to allow air flow as needed for inclement weather. The laboratory room is only a few steps away from the cattle processing room. The proximity and climate control of the lab room allow for efficient and safe handling/evaluation/processing of oocytes, embryos, and semen. We also have ample space to store your embryos and semen in our climate controlled laboratory area. Our nitrogen tanks are stored in a climate controlled room and checked weekly. We have onsite liquid nitrogen to fill your tank if needed.
